The next day when I turned my PC on and inserted the HDD, it does glow in solid white, but is not recognized in Windows, infact, the Windows explorer is unresponsive whenever the HDD is connected to my PC. Clicked the cancel transfer button, waited for an hour and shut down the PC. I was copying data from this HDD to my friend's Sony HDD( 3 months ago), when I noticed the data transfer slowed down suddenly and my drive got turned off(no LED blink or solid light). I have never transported it anywhere, it basically lies in my photo shelf for the entire time and I might have used it for maybe only a dozen times.
It's been almost 3 years since I bought this (one with the old logo). Ubuntu 18.04.2(when I boot into Linux, rarely the drive is recognized) (I'm keeping my PC updated, the problem first occured when the version of Windows was 1704, now it's 1809) PC: Windows 10 1704, Intel i7-5557U, 8GB DDR3 with USB3 ports. Device:Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB(last I remember it was half full, 700GB free space) Device policy before failure: Quick removal(always).
